University of Limpopo Registration 2026: Everything You Need to Know

Registration at the University of Limpopo (UL) is more than just a box-ticking exercise — it is the moment a student officially steps into a new chapter of their academic life. While the university provides a formal guide, many students still feel unsure about what to expect, what matters most, and what can go wrong if they are not prepared. This is the real, practical look at UL registration — the version students actually need.

  • Visit www.ul.ac.za

  • Click “Student Portal” or “Online Registration”

  • Log in using your student number and PIN

    • If you forgot your PIN, click “Forgot PIN” to reset it.

 Upload or Confirm Your Personal Details

You must check and update:

  • Your phone number

  • Email address

  • Home address

  • Next of kin details

Make sure everything is correct — UL uses these for important communication.

 Get Financial Clearance

The system will NOT allow you to register without clearance.

If you are NSFAS funded

  • Funding is usually auto-cleared on the system

  • If not, upload your NSFAS confirmation letter or wait for clearance

 If you have a bursary

  • Upload your bursary award letter

  • Wait for Financial Aid to approve it

 If you are self-funding

  • Make the required minimum payment

  • Upload proof of payment

  • Wait for approval

 Register Your Modules

Once cleared financially:

  1. Go to “Registration”

  2. Choose your qualification/programme

  3. Select your modules

    • Choose all compulsory modules

    • Add electives (if required)

  4. Click “Submit Registration”

Make sure you follow the module credit requirements.

 Download Your Proof of Registration

After submitting, the system will generate:

  • Proof of Registration (PoR) – VERY important

  • Fees statement

Save or print these — they are needed for:

  • Class access

  • Accommodation

  • NSFAS/bursaries

  • Campus services

 Activate Your UL Email & Online Learning

After registration is successful:

  • Activate your UL student email (Microsoft Office 365)

  • Log in to Blackboard/eLearning

  • Check your class timetable

  • Join class WhatsApp groups or faculty notices
